Indefinite and definite articles
Definite articles are attached to the noun as suffixes, whereas indefinite
articles stand as separate words.
The form of the definite article also depends on whether the noun is
singular or plural.
Masculin:

Note:
Neuter nouns in Romanian act like masculine ones when singular, and like feminine ones when plural.

Masculine:
Am văzut un băiat pe stradă.
I saw a boy on the street.
Băiatul aleargă în parc.
The boy is running in the park.
Am cumpărat niște băieți de ciocolată.
I bought some chocolate boys.
Feminine:
Ea citește o carte interesantă.
She is reading an interesting book.
Cartea este pe masă.
The book is on the table.
Am primit niște cărți de la bibliotecă.
I received some books from the library.
Neuter:
Copilul are un ou în mână.
The child has an egg in hand.
Oul este pe masă.
The egg is on the table.
Am găsit niște ouă în magazie.
I found some eggs in the shed.
